Winter Checkups on trailer?

Checked up on the trailer today for the first time since winterizing. Does anyone else do this?

We live in a forested area and I have it in one of the only open areas we have on our property. I was mainly worried about field mice but no sign of the little varmints. Not sure if its the mint oil doing the job but it sure smells nice in there.

I also looked for any sign of leaks. Although I didn't expect any, its still a good feeling knowing its nice and dry. For those who are interested, I use an ADVO cover with the two vents cracked open. I also have a tub of damprid to suck up any condensation.

I checked my two 6-volt Trojans, which I just leave on the trailer with the batteries disconnected at the switch. My multimeter showed 12.6volts so that's about 89% charged, which is good.

The only issue I have is that I can't find the key to the hitch lock. We lost some keys around Thanksgiving and I think it was on that set. I'll have to try to get a replacement before spring comes. Oh, well. At least its an easy fix.

My wife and I check on ours also. We have a seasonal site about an hour away, we check it every 3 weeks or so.

Every three weeks, huh? I have no excuse for waiting 3 months except laziness. Its only about 100 feet from my house.

I made a check on mine the day after Christmas. Part of it was seeing how things looked, and the other part of it was missing being out in it.

It is too depressing for me to go check on my trailer. It's only a 10 minute drive away to check on it but Camping season is still 4 away. It is probably good to check in case mice or other things have entered it.

Had to run to the camper today to check the propane. I'll usually run out several times a winter to check on the camper or do a little project. The last time to check on the camper was to install a replacement LED bulb.

Just posted in the Roo section about my check up. Wished I had checked sooner. Nothing major but a nuisance none the less. Stupid part is, it's sitting in my driveway!

Lucky to have mine stored indoors. Took the blankets and towels to put them away and ended up taking a nap in it. I can't wait for spring.

I know what you mean. Once I opened it up I just kind of sat there thinking about our first trip this spring. My 6yo DD followed me in and asked if we were going camping.

I told her soon, honey.

I check mine frequently but it's in our drive. My daughter loves it and always wants to go in it. We went to the RV show today in Cleveland, so now she really has the bug to camp.

Going to check on mine this weekend. Its been a month since I've seen it. Need to move to Florida so I don't have to winterize. Ready to go camping again.
