Winter Time, What to do?
Living here in Ohio, I miss camping right now, and am going through withdraw. What do you all do during the winter to pass the time till spring. I know Christmas is around the corner and that is always nice. But January and February are going to be killers...LOL

We hook up the trailer and head south. Being retired helps.

We do the same. Southern Florida is real nice in January and February. Since our winters are not as bad as some here we come back home in March.

I would love to hook up and head south, we both have job's here, and kids. This is our goal later when we get ready to retire.

Got any projects or "MODS" that you could do to your camper ?? fire up the heater .. let it run a hour or 2...get some improvement (s) done... that could benefit you during the "camping season " ..reading up on "tips and tricks" for camping...plan next seasons..trips now...

We're in the north so the trailer is stored and has been for a couple of months.
Things I do in the meantime:
- Play with the kids and/or watch them play their sports.
- Exercise - bike trainer, swim, run, XC Ski. Well ... That's all the time, but I get to throw in the skiing now.
- Get caught up on the other hobbies - In my case that's cooking, pheasant hunting, a few others.
- Work - my company's busy season is January through April. But, we're slow from June through September. Not so bad considering Wisconsin weather.

My daughter and I winter camp here in Mi.
We have a great time sledding, snowshoeing and huge campfires.
We use a ceramic heater in our mini lite 2306.

We headed out to Idaho. We don't have to put up with the snow birds and old retired people. I'm only 67 and not old enough to go South for the winter yet.

My wife & I enjoy seeing indoor RV shows around the area that start in the last part of January here in Missouri. Even though we can't afford a new camper right now, we love to see new floorplans of RV's. Quite different from seeing a black & white picture diagram to actually viewing the product. And we also love to see new camping gadgets coming out. But we really like to visit with other campers and ask questions of likes & dislikes of their trailers.

We are fortunate to live where we can camp year-round. The Holidays have kept us busy, but we're planning a trip for mid January.

We end up going to the RV Shows here in Ohio too, that's how we ended up with our camper this year...

Blasphemy you say...
There's not much to life without camping or planning for a good outing. We're planning for an ice fishing trip this January and planning our other 2012 outings. We're figuring out dutch oven recipes (using the the in-house oven). There's a lot of camping activities to do in the wintertime, without actually setting sail on the open road.
I perish the thought of life without camping!
so far 12 days of camping planned for 2012.
