Winterizing

I am wondering if I have to take my RV to a dealer to have it winterized if I have emptied the Truma Combi unit and blown out the water lines with pressurized air? Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

Regardless, never take an RV to a dealer to have them winterize it. They will charge you $149.95 for something you can easily do in 30 minutes.

149$ ? I saw a local dealer charging 249? that may have included winter parking. 30 minutes is stretching it. Closer to 15.

If I could figure out the water lines to see if there is a bypass valve for the Truma Combi water heater/heating system so that I'm not running antifreeze through it I would do it myself.

I live in Georgia so winterizing may not be as important for me. But what I do is pull out both low point drain plugs. Then open up all the faucets. In five years and a couple freezes I’ve never had a problem.

Can you take a picture of your water heater lines and post it?

I will have to attempt to take pics tomorrow during the daytime and its under a jack knife bench seat that doesn't allow much space to access that area.

My dealer does it for free every year if you bought it from them. Great drive through service with no appointment.

We don't use it because we camp once a month in winter, so we need to winterize 3 or 4 times. Dealership will only do it once a year, so we do it at home in 15 minutes.
