Wiring Diagram for seven pin connector at the back of motorhome used when towing

Wiring Diagram for seven pin connector at the back of motorhome used when towing. I am mainly looking to find the pin-out which carries 12VDC from the motorhome to supply a charge to the tow vehicle battery when towing.

Charging comes from Pin 4.

Wiring

Thanks! Do you know if the Sunseeker as factory wired provides 12VDC to pin #4 to the plug on the motorhome?

Don't know, but should have. Take a meter and test. Put meter on Vdc scale greater than 14, connect Red lead to pin 4 and Black lead to pin 1. You will read voltage being supplied. On my GT they forgot/removed the relay powering pin 5, so I suggest you check all Pins properly.

Wiring diagrams should be universal. If not, then you would have rewire with every trailer change. That is the way semis are too.

The charging pin was already powered when I connected a toad charging wire to the 7 pin connector on our E450 Sunseeker 3100. You may have to install a relay or fuse. In some cases the Ford chassis wiring was in place but a fuse or relay was not factory installed.

Check the voltage with the MH's ignition turned on and turned off, so you'll know if the power to the toad is "switched" (i.e., on all the time or switched off with the MH's ignition switch).

If it's NOT switched, you can end up draining your MH battery if not careful. To address this, you can either disconnect the 7-pin plug when necessary OR install a 12VDC relay that's either powered by something that's switched, or via an ON/OFF switch that you locate somewhere that's acceptable to you.
