Wondering why 2011 TT would still have "new" smell.

We purchased a 2011 TT in January and the first thing we noticed when we opened the door to look at it was the "new" smell. I thought that was strange after being 4 years old. Seems to me that smell would be gone by now. Does the "new" smell always mean it is from the chemicals that are in the building materials and if so, how long does it take for them to go away?

You can buy sprays that make old vehicles smell new, dealers use them all the time.

I think it means you got a really clean unit. The people before you must have taken really good care of it. You got a great purchase.

Vin.

Probably just means no cooking was done it and it's been well taken care of. Best way to kill the new smell is to fry some bacon in it.

My 2006 Sunseeker still has that new smell when it has been shut up for a while. Not real strong, but noticeable to me. Air out or turn the A.C. and it goes away until the next time.
