Working in the RV Industry

An interesting article from the perspective of the workers in the RV industry.

That speaks to a lot of issues that have been discussed here. Interesting article. I wasn't aware of a lot of this.

Yup, eye opening, but not all are paid by the hour. Wanna look into all of our auto dealers and look at the conditions we deal with. We are still paid flat rate, meaning if we aren't working on a customers vehicle, we don't get paid. I've sat for hours during slow times and not made a dime. It's time for that to change also. Not gonna happen tho.

Thanks for posting the link. It's a very interesting article.

Can anyone who has done a FR plant tour in the area verify any of the statements in the article about piece work and the demographics?

We've heard for years that the North American economy would shift from manufacturing to service industries.

interesting article, however it is not much if any different than any business, the owners/investors for the most part want quantity over quality any day. i am in the trucking business and it is amazing the changes in the past 10 years. more volume less dockworkers and drivers i see most working with 75 to 80% of the employees they had 10 years ago yet the volume of freight has grown 50 to 60%, yet they are expected to preform as if they full staff. The burnout rate is huge, as is the turnover
