Would you try to install your own 5th wheel hitch?

Would any of you out there even think about installing your own 5th wheel hitch just to save a few bucks?

Installing your own hitch

Yes, We did install ours and there were really no problems. We do 90% of our own work on our 5th wheel and truck because we have the time, tools and Dutch is an excellent mechanic. The only area we can't do is anything electronic/computer related under the hood of our Dodge. If you have the time and ability why not do it yourself- Diana

I have come to the conclusion that in most cases it is cheaper for me to pay someone to take time out of their schedule to install it than it is for me. I think the skill is there it just comes down to the time and sometimes the right tools.

I looked at the install for my B&W setup and found that it would cost me almost as much to buy the hole saw as it would to pay them to put it in. So since I could not find another use for a 4" hole saw I let them do the job!!
