Some clown in front of you panic stops in his or her Prius and you eat them because you cannot stop in time... Guess what, it's your fault, assured clear distance...

Brake components are always larger on any truck with a higher GCWR than a lesser truck.

One, don't tailgate, two, anticipate the unexpected always and three, buy a truck with the higher payload rating.... just say'in.

Just as important is make sure your trailer brakes are working. No truck can panic stop a trailer without the trailer having brakes working correctly.

If you can't feel the trailer pull a little when you touch the tv brake pedal, you need to do some adjusting either on the trailer brakes or the controller, or both.

I pull 3 different trailers so when going down the driveway I always manually engage the trailer brakes to see what I have and then adjust the gain accordingly.
