You just have to wonder...
Having been on this forum now for just over a year...and learning what I have learned...there are still those moments when you just have to wonder.
I saw this Nissan Pathfinder at a hotel I stayed at while on a jobsite in Southern California. Would love to know what is being towed, and how.

I don't understand your question. The Pathfinder, with a rating of 5000lbs. can tow a number of lightweight trailers that are available. Not everyone needs or wants a 35' trailer and large pickup truck.

Wasn't aware of capability of Pathfinder. Was just eye allying hitch. I guess I was thinking back to when Mazdas Toyotas and Nissans weren't necessarily deigned to tow. I had a B2600 4x4 Mazda that back in the day per the dealer could do absolutely everything. However, it wasn't capable of much per reality. In any event...

The 6 cyl Pathfinder is rated 6000 lbs, 600 HW
The 8 cyl Pathfinder is rated 7000 lbs, 700 HW
Some Outback trailers I have seen sit pretty high.

Well now. It certainly pays to listen and learn. My apologies as I initially started this as humor (apparently sad humor since it just didn't work out that way). I didn't even know you could get a Pathfinder with a V8. Ok, sorry for the poor attempt at humor. Thank you for the info on the V8 based Pathfinder.

He might be a Brit. The Pathfinder (or whatever they call it over there) is probably rated to 10,000 pounds. My '03 Kia Sedona is rated at 3500 pounds in the US and 6600 pounds in the UK for the identical vehicle.

Now comes the next question, or thought...why in a hotel parking lot and still have the hitch on? Vacation go bad?
