I have posted several messages and threads on here running Forest River down over some initial quality problems on my Blue Ridge 3705BH. I did have several issues on my unit that had to be worked through in the first camping season, requiring several trips back to the dealer. I am pleased to report that all issues with my camper have been resolved. We have not had a single problem with it this camping season.
I had what I thought was a problem with the furnace last fall that I had thought might be unresolved. It turns out that it was my own fault. I had assumed that once I was plugged into park power, it didn't matter what position the battery disconnect was in. After reading a post on here by Lou (Herk7759) about a sail switch in the furnace that shuts the gas off if the blower is not putting out enough capacity, I did some further research and have come to the conclusion that by leaving the battery disconnect off, the battery was not charging. The blower initially came on and the furnace fired, but as the battery drained and the blower became weak, it would fail to re-fire. I have used it several nights this fall and it has not failed to fire yet. Ignorance on my part was the issue with the furnace, and for that I owe Forest River a public apology on this forum.
All other issues have been fully corrected to my satisfaction, and I can say with full confidence that I have a good fifth wheel now. It is good to have such a cooperative dealer service department to work with. I've read several posts about dealers who make initial quality issues all the more frustrating, but I couldn't have asked my dealer to work any harder to resolve my complaints and give me a good unit.
