Was this KOA expensive? I was quoted just under $70.00 a night. We plan to be on the road for 15 days so the budget is an issue with two kids.

Wow!!! Just let the kids sees the photos. They want to leave today!!! How funny! Thanks for the pics. I think I am more excited now too!

We stayed a week there and rode our Harley's. the campground is large, and has activities like scavenger hunts for the kids. There is a little restaurant/bar there that makes the famous Ponderosa Coffee!! I now make it all the time! Yes the buffalo are all around, and if you come upon folks stopped in cars, have cameras ready because it is a "critter sighting" going on! We were riding along a road and traffic was stopped, so we stopped as well. When we saw it was a bison they were watching, we rode up in front of the line so that we were not behind all the cars (as we had no protection being on a bike). This HUGE bison off to the side of the road was rolling in the dirt. Yes that was fun to watch! He then gets up and shakes....then raises his head and snorts out two huge streams of you know what from his nose....then starts what looked like bucking! I am on the back of the bike videoing the entire ride....all of a sudden my DH says "we gotta go!", and tells me to Hang On! I had no idea what was wrong. All of a sudden that beast looked right at us and began chasing us. The video turned out amazing! He ran along side of us (like 50 yards away) like he was going to cut us off up ahead!! Man those things can run!! End of story we did get ahead of him before he turned to cut us off....but holy cow that was something! Later at the KOA pub I was showing the video and folks wanted me to send it to the news cause they love stories like that! Apparently the bucking is a behavior they make before charging, and thang goodness my DH knew that, cause I just thought he was shaking off his roll in the dust and sneezing! ha!! I can't wait to go again!! You guys will have so much fun!!

We also rode to the famous town of Deadwood. We also went to see the grave sites of Calamity Jane, Wild Bill, and Seth Bullock!

Oh, this is the KOA I contacted. It is very nice but expensive at $75.00 a night for a 24' camper with electric, sewer, cable, water etc. For the wife it's not a bad deal.
