Need HELP!!! Might Buy 2010 Freedom Express 291 QBS

Hi, We currently have a 2012 Rockwood Roo 233s. We are considering trading for a 2010 Coachman Freedom Express 291QBS. What are you thoughts...
Our main reasons are:
1. More room (we have 2 boys 4 & 8)
2. Privacy
3. Hard sides, not a hybrid
4. Counter space
5. Better Layout
6. Possibility of a better resale???

If you have a coachman what are your thoughts? Have you had issues, or concerns. How is the quality? Were loosing a roof warranty, hows your roof? Any type of info you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks

The 2010 would be out of warranty anyway, but note that since FR bought Coachmen they do not offer a 2nd year warranty. I thought this was interesting in as much as almost every other FR product has this offer, and the general consensus is you should get it. However, I also do not see all that many people post about problems that crop up in the second year, typically they are in the first year.

Do a few searches on the 291. IIRC there have been some people who reported suspension problems, basically the springs going flat very quickly. This would be pretty obvious when you look at the trailer. I believe that somewhere along the line Coachmen must have been delivered some underbuilt springs which caused that problem.

Otherwise, Coachmen trailers reputation is very solid. They use a rubber roof like most in the industry which is easy to maintain. Routine maintenance on the roof is key for almost all trailers.

I walked through at least one 291 and found it was a nice floorplan and nicely finished. I can't recall if this is the deep slide model or if it is the 292.

We just bought a Freedom Express 233RBS. Even though we've only had it a short time I'm impressed with the quality.
