Yes, those are the straps. You use them for added security, not to mask a broken latch on a brand new camper awning. Thanks for posting that link!

It could be for the bath fan so that it comes on IF the fan switch is also on. Just a thought.

Hi all.. Ok.. so in the bathroom there is only a push-button light on the ceiling (all the lights in the camper are push-in LED lights (besides the light above the stove, that has an actual switch). So the button in the door jam has nothing to do with lights.
That being said, I tried to unscrew the screws, they are stripped. GRRRR. I couldn't get them out. Does anyone have any easy ideas how to get stripped screws out? I am guessing that the button is probably to keep the door from wiggling during transit but who knows. Thanks in advance on ideas of getting those two little screws out!!! Other than that, we LOVE the camper. The dealer said the awning pole just needs to be adjusted and to bring it in.

See if you can get a thin blade under the screw head or the plate then pry out gently while turning the screw.

Hi Everyone! So.... Still absolutely NO clue what that button is for. We turned on the fan, pushed the button, shut the door. Turned off the fan, etc etc Same with push in lights just to see... nothing.
BUT we did get the screws off.... it IS connected to some type of wiring? but to WHAT??? Thank you everyone for reading this and helping with trying to figure this out! And yes, if you noticed the "notch" out of the door, it was from the one screw that was in crooked! took a chunk out of the door. But no worries, I did purchase some wood putty cover up type stuff (haha don't know the name off the top of my head) that matches pretty well. I will fix that at some point.

I'm not sure of your model, but does it have a slide that would hit the door if left open. I have seen some units that have an interlock to prevent slide operation if the slide would hit and destroy the door.
