2016 29HFS XLR leaf spring broke

Just found one of my leaf springs broke in two. Have about 8k miles on the trailer. Noticed the rear axle/wheel sticking out farther on the drivers side. The passenger side rear leaf is broke and both axle/u-bolts are resting on the frame. Both tires on that axle are ruined.

Wow. Give us some details. More ryde suspension? What do you usually haul? What weights do you carry. Gone over any road damage or curbs?

Haven't hit any curbs or rough roads. Mostly highway miles. Carry a generator and two 300cc 4 wheelers. I just think it was some bad Chinese Steel. Only info on the leaf is 15 9 MCK 72-067-00. From front to back on top. Luckily Car Quest had one in Pinedale Wyoming. The roads up here aren't super rough. Broke right where the second leaf starts. Straight across.

That is crazy, so you got it replaced? Through warranty? It doesnt seem like you were anywhere near carrying capacity, must have just been a crazy weak piece of steel. No other damage, seems lucky other than the problem itself.

Yes I got a new one at Car Quest. Warranty is up. Haven't contacted Forest River yet. I think you're right, cheap Chinese steel. And I am lucky it didn't cause an accident.
