2016 XLR Hyper Lite 30HDS ?

Looking to upgrade 2012 27HFS to the 2016 30HDS. Does anybody own one.

The second slide sounds great on the inside but does it get in the way on the outside?
Looks like it has better cabinet layout now and hopefully fixed the axle issue too. My wife likes the bedroom better too.
Is the couch/recliners comfortable?
I'm hoping they have one at the RV Show in Hershey PA this month so I can look at one

My wife and I bought one 2 months ago and we love it! This is our first RV so I'm not sure what your asking about the slide being in the way. We bought ours with the recliners and wouldn't have it any other way... Very comfy!

MrDon, I have the recliner / couch and it is comfortable, but have a couple of large towels over the vinyl. It would be nicer with fabric inserts. I won't trade it for the dinette... no way. I don't see how the slide could get in the way outside. It does prevent you from getting into the fridge without running the slide out.

I have heard that kitchen slides sometimes have trouble with fridge cooling and some add more fan or fans.

I don't know what you mean about the axle issue. It would appear that it comes with the same 4400# axles that only allow 2483# cargo in this model, but less when options are added.

If I was buying new, I would look seriously at the Nitro models and for me the 5th wheel, 29UDQL5 looks very good. By the way, the 31FQSL is very similar to the 29HDS, its just heavier but also has way more cargo capacity, not to mention fresh water, etc.

I have a 2012 27HFS and I've had the axle issue that lot of people had with it, has 2-3500lbs axles, plus the axles weren't wide enough so tires were rubbing with barely any weight in it. The dinette in the 2012 the padding compresses to nothing after couple minutes seating in them. I used to do bodybuilding and I was heavier than most people so they told me that my weight was to much for the seating so they wouldn't replace them. Still trying to get the axles replaced yet.

Some picture, there's only about 1 1/4 gap in between tires and frame. Only about 2 fingers between axle and frame(pic upside down) with only a 400 lb bike in back with tanks empty and RV level.

The 29UDQL5 looks nice but the price is little more than wanted to spend.

MrDon, my 29hfs had 4400# axles when delivered. With nothing in the garage, the axles hit the frame. FR paid to have a dealer replace with 5200# axles. No more issues... the change increased axle to frame clearance by a little over an inch, so no more issue. Unofficially, it increased GVW back to early 2014 specs at about 11K pounds.

I mentioned the Nitro line because there is a owner of a Nitro 31FQSL on the XLR forum whom I have been "talking to" and its nice, very similar to the 30HDS Hyperlite. It is much more capable in the cargo weight department. I like both and both would work for me.

I didn't know they every put 3500# axles under a Hyperlite; no wonder you mentioned axle problems.

I have to look more into the Nitro 31FQSL, I just briefly looked at it and I like it too, it has a stove but I like the 30HDS outside color thou. But it does have more cargo cap. 6,000 lb axles.

Here's pic of my decal on my 27HFS
