24 HFS Rear Television

My new to me 24 HFS is missing the TV in the rear. Can anyone tell me what size TV is supposed to be back there and if there is a weight limit on the mounting location? I'd like to add a TV for those rainy camping days where we must be kept inside.

The other thing I noticed was that my radio can't play DVD's...what's up with that?

What year? Did it have a TV back there? My '14 27 HFS did not have a TV and the stereo doesn't play DVDs.

It's a 2014. It use to have a TV back there, half of the mount is still there even. I believe the previous owner kept the TV when they traded in the trailer. I do have the antenna booster and everything ready, just no tv.

What does the mount look like? And does the front TV have the same mount? If so it was meant to be moved back and forth between the two places. I just picked up a mount for the garage wall to do exactly that in my trailer. Don't need 2 TV's.

We don't have a front tv. We have a cable connection for one, but no tv.

I had a hell of a time finding out who made them for FR, but the ones on my trailer were made by Ramco Engineering in the link above. If it's one of these they have weight ratings posted and you can use that to size a TV.

Mine doesn't look that any of those either. I think mine is just a cheap tv wall mount. What I have left of it looks like the bigger rear plate on here.

I was thinking of replacing the mount with an arm style so I can position it to be seen in the rear or in the kitchen, so thank for posting that link. I wasn't sure if the cabinet had a weight rating on it.

I like swing out / tilt mounts. Always buy heavier one than you would for a house. If I was putting one in my garage, a 20" or slight larger seems about right. If like mine there's a 2x6 vertical floor to ceiling for all TV locations for a substantial support. On interior walls.

No problem. I thought I was going to break the internet trying to figure that one out. I got my mount from them, the price was good, but the shipping was a bit high IMO. On the other hand though, I had the part here in about 3 days from IN.

Definitely sounds like you've just got whats left of the average household mount. I can't see that the tv wouldn't slide side to side on one of those in transport though. The swivel mount is probably a better idea, just have to find a good way to secure it for transport. Mor/Ryde also makes what look to be nice mounts though I have no personal experience with them.


I just have a "TV backer" sticker in the garage. not sure what it is yet as I knocked my studfinder off the top of a 6 foot ladder (to concrete) and haven't got a replacement yet.

TV backer is a reinforced area for mounting a TV.

I know that much. More wondering what is back there, if it's a 2x6 like WW has or something else. Need the studfinder to "see" behind the wall.

In my 29hfs its a 2x6 floor to ceiling. Stud finder not needed... Knock in wall with your knuckle. At least that works for me.

In the 24HFS the TV is mounted to a cabinet front, not a wall. There is a blank cabinet that doesn't have a door, the TV mounts there.

An update to this. While camping this weekend I looked at the stickers on my TV Mount. It is this mount

I bought another to get the half that mounts to the TV. The mount is rated for up to 50 lbs. The spot this mounts to the cabinet seems to be about 1" thick and is the intended spot FR has for mounting the TV.

While also looking around Best Buy, they had an "open box" 32" Insignia TV which was an led w/ 1080P. I picked the TV up and went home and put it all together. I left the feet on the TV, which do not interfere with the cabinet, so that I can pull the TV off the mount and set on the night stand by the front bed. The TV is approximately 10 lbs.

Here is the finished product...

Sorry S, I was under the impression you were talking about how to mount a TV in your garage... Is the TV photo in the garage or front?

That is the TV in the garage area. I don't have any pictures of the area in the front where the TV can go. I'm going to adjust the rails on the TV this evening to get it a little higher up and not block the radio beneath it.
