24HFS Diamond plate damaging cushions

The old thread was too old to reply to, but I figured I'd try again in hopes that maybe someone has had the issue since I last posted. When folding up the dinette cushions for loading the bikes in, the diamond plate that comes up the wall isn't a smooth transition to the wall itself and it is starting to cut into the dinette cushions. From what I can see, it does not look like the dinettes can be adjusted at all to be further off the wall, but maybe I am missing something. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks.

Fyi you "can" reply to an old thread.
You just have to click the little box acknowledging that it's over 180 days old.

So you're saying that the exposed edge of the diamond plate is cutting into the cushions? I might try to take a long piece of rubber tubing (small, like a fuel line or even smaller,) slit it open and affix it over the edge of the DP (like with glue, clear RTV, etc.). This would cover the exposed edge and prevent further damage, yes?

I thought about that but the cushions are so tight to the wall that by adding anything, I don't think I'd even be able to fold the seats up. They are very tight to the wall.

Ok...so if there's no room to slip a protecting cover over the edge, how about taking a Dremel with a stone wheel and grinding the offending edge smooth? It might be easier to take the DP off and bring it into your shop or put it on a table to do this, but it might work...

Could you run a strip of the clear tape used to repair awnings down the rough edge?

The diamond plate is already so thin that I think filing it will just create more of a knife edge and do further damage. I am going to see if there is something the dealer can do since it is still under warranty. If not, the clear tape may be a possibility... I'll just have to find some very strong tape so the cushion doesn't just pull it off.

A thin bead of silicone caulk on the top edge maybe? I know you said it's very thin but putting a very small bead of caulk up there to cover the edge might be all you need.

When I had mine I ran into the same issue and I did the tape option. It worked pretty well.

I didn't even think about spacing it off of the wall. I was looking at how I could unbolt the cushions and move them out on the bracket, but never even though about spacing out the entire bracket. I'll take a look tonight. I'll also try to get some pics. Thanks.

Didn't get a chance to look at it last night. I forgot that I still have a lot of crap stored in my camper and couldn't get to the seat. We're opening it up for the season this weekend so I'll be able to get in there and take a look / get some pics.
