24HFS gray water tank capacity

Has anyone else measured their gray water tank capacity on a 24HFS? Everything from Forest River advertised it as a 57 gallon capacity but I was finding that it seemed to be filling up rather quickly. After some measuring of my own, I was only able to get 38 gallons if I remember correctly. I did the measuring at the end of last season but apparently never made a post about it from what I can find.

It's a bit annoying because the high capacity tank is one of the big reasons I went with this RV. We tend to do some dry camping (NASCAR races, MotoGP races, etc) and after 3 navy showers, and limited sink use, the tank is full. Not sure what my options are now...

Full as in the lights "say" it's full? Or full as its backing up in the drains?

Full as in backing up in the shower.

I did apparently post a topic before (thought for sure I had), but for some reason it didn't show up in my original search. By now it's very old, so hopefully there is some additional input. So I'll just leave this new thread and not resurrect the old one if the mods are OK with that.

There are 2 grey water tanks one for the kitchen and one for the lav shower . neither are connected together only at the dump site . you have to dump valves one for each tank . i'm guessing 28.5 gallons per tank . but with forest river who really knows this si one the 29hsf but maybe the same on the 24

Well see that's what I was wondering.
If they were including 2 tanks and calling it one capacity?

I have a 105 gallon grey capacity but spread over 3 tanks.
Grey for shower and sink.
Grey for kitchen sink.
Grey for outside kitchen.

Is this a possibility?

Unless they forgot to put the drain handle in, I don't believe I have a 2nd gray water tank. I haven't pulled the under-cover off yet, but I highly doubt there is a 2nd tank.

Mine has two grey dump valves. One you have get on your hands and knees and reach way under. I'll be fixing that.

RV holding tank capacities

Hi, new to the site, not having good luck finding my way around. My questions is about a 2005 30 ft wildcat. I need to know the tank capacity of the fresh, gray and black water tanks. I can't find any information. Does anyone here know what they are?

Your best bet is to post a new thread, not a reply. That way everyone can see it (not just people looking in this thread).

Well I got some bad news today. I brought my 24HFS in to a small local shop to take a look at some stuff. While we had the underbelly cover off, I decided to look at the gray tank to see if I could get a capacity off of it and it's only 31 gallons!!! So much for the advertised 57 gallons. I have a message into Bob to see what can be done. I really hope FR can do something because the gray water capacity was a MAJOR selling point on why I bought this model.

Our 27HFS TT has two tanks that total the advertised size.

Did you measure tank to get capacity?

You need to measure to be sure you don't have two tanks plumbed together (one handle) like I do. This is assuming the entire underbody wasn't removed. If it was then you got your answer I guess.

The entire underbelly was removed to do some other small odds and ends (fresh water drain valve directly off the tank, wire/tubing clean-up, etc). So unless the piping is holding 27 gallons, which I HIGHLY doubt, there was an advertising error on this one. But I have faith that bulletbob will be able to help me out. Everything I've found on here says he is a guy who genuinely cares about FR customers so hopefully we can figure something out. I don't see anywhere that a 2nd tank could be mounted so I'm not really sure what can be done. But we originally bought this model because of the high gray capacity and we had planned to do a bit of dry camping (races, etc). That's going to be a lot harder with 1/2 the capacity we were expecting...

I also have 2 greys... One just aft of the FW tank, midship... The other aft of the Black, above rear axle. Didn't see a label but a calculator I found on line indicates 27 gals MOL each
