27 HFS Generator?

I put some foam around the generator that was installed at the factory to try and muffle the sound. What is everyone's thoughts on it? Will it get to hot and not work properly? Is there a different solution to it? My wife and I haven't slept in the front room without a electrical hookup, but come tailgating season we will be using the generator.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Now the exhaust comes out below the generator through a pipe, so that shouldn't be an issue.

From what I can tell with mine is all the heat comes out the bottom. Let me know how that works I may try that with mine if it doesn't cause any problems. But considering the gen is in the camper it may not. It's just something we haves learned to live with but we don't have our gen on at night.

I figure I would try this and if it doesn't work I will just live with it. I actually haven't even tested the generator at night noise due to not having to use the generator.

Lift up the BED, there you have the storage compartment. I packed the storage area surrounding just the generator with a bunch of old pillows and blankets. Otherwise this area just seems to magnify the noise.. it did help some, but it's a bummer that thing is located right under your head (literally).
I suspect your foam will help some.. but i doubt as much as what i suggested.

.. but go the extra mile, stuff some old pillows and blankets in that small area to take up ALL the open space around the gen box.

Any concerns with airflow for cooling of the unit?

If you are asking me, I will know this weekend. Our tailgating season starts and we do not have access to power and it is suppose to be in the upper 90's. Hopefully it will shut down if it gets to hot? Ofcourse I will have the door open to allow for more ventilation.
