You'll have to look at the tire, it's posted on the sidewall.

??? The GVWR for the camper is usually the axle capacity plus the dry hitch or pin weight, so axles on all campers are always maxed out when at it's GVWR.

Dave
getting axles ratings is not as easy as it might seem . they post specs but very limited specs . they do not get into the things that really matter and stick to the fluff stuff , but i guess that's what sales .

If you look for one that is for sale you may find a picture of the tire and axle placard. shows the axle placard. http://www.hilmersonrv.com/rv/little...yperlite+29hfs
St225/75R15/D. So D rated
4400 lb axle.

Looks like that unit has lots of options with a cargo of 2400 . the tires it seems are rated at 2418 . which gives a max load of 9672 , with a dry trailer weight of over 6900 and cargo of qouted from the dealer 3014 , or from what i can find 2700 brings a low total to 9600 . not cutting it close are they , but then again what do they care , you'll be carrying 1000 on the tongue

I know you don't want to hear it, but if the tires are not Goodyear, Maxxis, Kumho, I would replace them now.

Not telling me anything i haven't told myself . I'm sure they use the cheapest tires they can get away with . have found a couple E 3000lbs rated 15" tires , will be worth the extra 800

Just a gut feeling, but my factory tires (2540# rating) don't look cheap like some I've seen. The rubber has a nicer look to it, I know you can't tell much by looking.

Maxxis is the old Cheng Shen Rubber Co., the used to make very good MC tires. Them and Goodyear are made in SE Asia. I think quality control is better for Maxxis and Goodyear, but that may be a pipe dream.

DOT code: JULT 1CT 4913.

Manufacturer JU HANGZHOU ZHONGCE RUBBER CO., LTD., HANGZHOU, ZHEJIANG, CHINA. I'm not sure what the LT or the 1CT means, unless that is the plant code. They were all made in the 49th week of 2013. I need to clean them up... grass clippings all over them. They are 10 ply rated radial tires, rated 2540# at 65psi. Link below for E rated Westlakes, FYI.

I thought LT were light truck tires, but certainly not a tire expert.

No they are ST (special trailer), the code is JULT, where JU is the manufacturer, I would bet LT identifies the actual plant.
