I picked up my new camper yesterday and the a/c makes noise even when the blower is not running. When the thermostat set temp is satisfied the fan blower shuts down but the compressor sounds like it still is running. I have had 3 campers and never heard of this, Is this normal?
That isn't normal...sounds like a trip to the dealer for service of the A/C.

I am so pissed. I told them about the noise 2 weeks ago when I delivered my trade. They said they heard the noise and changed the control board and it was fixed. The noise can only be heard when the stat is satisfied. It did not do it during daytime hours since the outside temp was 88 and the a/c ran all the time during the day.
Turn the braker off then turn it back on and see what happens, there is a good chance that the contactor is stuck in the closed position or the the 24 volt control voltage is keeping the coil energized which is holding the contactor in the closed position.
