A/C unit stays on issue

We have a 2016 XLR Thunderbolt 5th wheel toy hauler, 375AMP. One of the A/C units stays on continuously, even when I change the temp setting higher. It used to cycle off & on once the temp setting has been adjusted. For example, if set at 80, then adjusted to 82 or 84, it would cycle off until the temp in the trailer reached the higher temp, then come back on. Just like an A/C unit in a house. Now the fan runs continuously till it is turned off. Is the issue in the unit itself or in the actual switch/control mechanism? Also, how often should the filter be changed? On the same cycle as for a house or more often?

I do have it on auto, and that's how we have been using it. That's why I am now concerned.

Mine was doing that last night on my '17 freedom express, turned off for 10 minutes and turned back on(read that while researching the issue) and it started working fine

Ok, so I decided to toggle to the "hi/lo/au" option & noticed it was in the high mode, so I switched it to "au" then toggled to "cool" and it finally operated the way it used to. Since I always toggled past that option & went straight to the cool option, I did not realize that the "high" setting was on & not the "au" setting. Thank you for your help, glad it was an easy fix!
