40 lbs off between sections of that scale... Between itself... is a little over .62% (6 tenths of a percent). I suppose + or - 1% all you get. That's 90 lbs ( + or -) at that total weight of 14540 lbs. I tried to find out how CAT calibrates those scales... Its a closely guarded secret... They won't say.

WW your sounding like an engineer - lol (no offense I'm 1 too)

We need some Toy Hauler time - let the season begin - it's been crazy warm out here on the west coast - 8 more day till pickup

Got my list ready - got some axle grease and tire wrench as you suggested already pack

Weighed my truck today with the topper on and me in it 1/4 tanks of gas came in at 6120 , now add 25 more gallons of fuel about 400 lbs brings me to 6520 . with a full trailer 9650 +- give a combined weight 16170 and another 5 or 6 in the truck bed will have me at 16770 . just a mere 770 over gcwr .
Went i got new tires for the truck she gave me an awesome deal on e 10 ply rated trailer tires good to 2840 and will buy the ones off the trailer when i bring it back total for truck and TH was 1250 and she said i could easily get 300 to 400 back when i bring in the TH for the tires , Hercules brand I've had them on my truck and get great mileage out of them they are a 60,000 mile tire warrantied , I think cooper is the parent company of the Hercules brand .

I know i will be loaded to the max in TV and TH and don't want to deal with tires that are at there max from the get go . this give me bit of cushion and a lot less worry

I swear by Michelin LTX M/S 10 ply with an extra cord in the sidewalls - this create extra stiff sidewalls - great in the snow Too --

Having a quadrasteer I went through a few tires that would lose/wear the out side edge of tire out - the Michelin cured that problem and greatly improved handling on my truck -- a little spendy but with all the camping trips w camper in bed these tire can handle some serous weight with no shoulder roll....

My Ram has stock tires and rims. The tire is less than 30" tall. I'd like to get something around 33" and some purdy rims! Probably 18".. stock 2015 takeoff if I could find some would do.

That's why i use the Hercules 10 ply e 3450 for my truck way less then the michelin but they run and wear great . they are a very good top notch tire ! for me michelins are not any better yet cost way more . these Hercules will pull in the snow mud etc they may not have the same wear , 60,000 vs 80,000 but i got all 4 TV tires and all 4 TH tires for about the price of the michelins

actual 29HFS weight

Never heard of Hercules tires before it looks like they are a Midwest east coast brand and don't exist on the west coast - probably like a les swab brand out here - I'm sure they are great E ply tires too.

But If you saw what was in the bed of my truck and the the handling I had with the michelins you would spend the money --- I'm talking Columbia River Gorge where the average cross wind on any given summer day is 30 to 60 mph all day - you want the stiffest side wall you can get especially w an overweight camper on your back --- I'm talking 18 wheeler laying on their side because of insane wind - this is normal every day stuff in the gorge - that what makes it one of the best kiteboarder spots in the world, ---

Wind that ain't wind , Ever been to Wyoming , i live in Colorado at 7400' worked in Vail and Aspen been through more blizzards and whiteouts then most . Hercules get's you through the deep stuff and the windy stuff . lol The tires it self is very capable and I'd trust it over a michelin in adverse conditions anytime . But for that cushy ride and lighter wallet the Michelins can't be beat

Nice Rig !
once i figure out how to post a pic I put one up of the Hercules / 2500 and northstar popup in the back country of Colorado .

Getting ready to have some fun . West Yellowstone from May 15th till Oct 1st . Sure i'll get snow heading in and coming out . glad i brought these new tires
and the TH will have much superior tires 10 ply E rated 2840lbs . Instead of those underrated tires Forest River puts on .

On Another note bought a tongue scale . can't wait to use it .

Colorado has the strangest Rules -- Ok to take a snowmobile and smoke everybody out - but hey put a kite up and do some kite boarding in the snow or in one of their lakes and they will issue a ticket -- it makes no sense a totally environment friendly, zero impact on the environment - and the park rangers want to harass me -- but don't mind the snowmobiles, drag boats, jet skis ect - drives me crazy ---

What you doing in Yellowstone? Im going to hit up Yosemite in August.

Guess it depends on where you go . I see plenty of guys kite boarding on the snow . etc . park rangers are the same everywhere and Ca is one of the most restrictive states around ! whats really getting bad is the forest service closing roads left and right for no reason . keep people off the public lands . Happening all over the west

I'll be working at a Mountianside KOA and fly fishing some of the best waters in the country along with plenty of rode trips on the bike .
Wanted to hit Yosemite a few yrs ago when we did a cA coastal bike ride rest of the group wanted to go another way so never saw it . that's what happens when you go with a group , done with groups

I bet you will love the TH. I'm itchin' to get out and go, too. Today is my Mom's 100th birthday, I couldn't leave until we celebrate that, of course.

Can you tell me what the Hercules tire models and sizes you are going with? I see a small town tire shop in a little GA town just north of me and might just check them out. I really want to get a better tire on the TV, and if I can swing it, the TH, as well.

It's a tacking thing - like sail boats upwind tac downwind tac --- but when you put over 400 kiter together in a race tangles do happen - that's part of the fun ---- lots of RV spots up and down the Columbia gorge - if you plan a trip let me know and I will send you a list.
