Exactly...
That's why I put my " undersized" magnum in, with a sub panel.

Hey, S... how many watts are you going with? How much and type batteries? How are you going to recharge? Its a balance / compromise. Oh, get "phase" out of your thought process. You have two 50 A hots (L1 L2) for 12,000 Watts of 120VAC... total.... nothing in a normal RV uses 240v... just 120V to neutral. Yes they are 180° out of phase... matters not for our purposes.
I'd look into Magnum Hybrids that can absolutely run some loads on both hots... plus when in CGs with limited power, it can draw from your batteries to make up the difference... wiring and a subpanel. lots of options and decisions to make.

Hey everyone,

Thankfully im lazy and a procrastinator.

Go Power released the perfect solution for those of us that are running 50amp services.

The GP-IC-2000-12
It is an INLINE addition that actually allows the full 50a per leg to pass through. I bought this and installed it in 15 minutes. Now everything is perfect with zero modifications to the existing wiring other that running the ATS to the inverter and a new cable from the inverter to the AC panel.

This looks like a great solution, any updates and what happens if you mistakenly turn on an AC? trips out, error on the display?... and did you purchase the remote display of course? Thanks!

Haven't tried running the AC from the batteries. We have ran the fan in the AC off the batteries with no issues.

Havent been able to overload the inverter yet so im not sure what the error would be. but we have Made toast, used the microwave and my wifes hair straightener off the inverter and it was fine.

If we do use our AC's (We have 2x 15k) we just turn on the generator first.

Yes I did buy the remote with it. Amazon had them both in a package deal for 1700 cdn.
