Additional Warranty For A/C Yes or No?

Hi All, I have a 2015 24FQSL TH. When I bought it I also bought a 7 year extended warranty. I had to have my A/C replaced under the 2yr. factory warranty. Dometic is offering an service contract for the new A/C, 1-3 years ($76.00 - $167.00).

My question is : Should I just stay with Cornerstone 7yr. warranty or should I add the Dometic warranty also? Some times warranty programs try not to cover things if they don't have too.

Thank you for your reply's!

shouldn't you already be covered under your 7 year warranty? The new unit is warranted by Dometic for 2 years also

All these warrantys for products you buy are geared to profit the sellers/manufacturers. Weigh your options closely or you loose.

The new A/C Dometic installed is only covered from the original date of purchase of the RV. one would think it would be for two more years, but it is Not.

X 2. I am now on my third A/C and still within the two year period (gives you some indication of dometic's problems). It would be great if they extended the warranty, but they don't and this one is covered by dometic only until July 2016 (installed Nov 2015). After that, I have "RV Warranty Forever." I expect this third unit will also go bad and I will experience how good/bad the Forever Warranty really is. Maybe I should try and replace it with a Coleman or other brand.

We can only hope and pray the warranties will hold up their end! This is only our second unit so far. A close friend is also on this second unit on his 2015 5er.

My son runs an RV repair shop in the Denver area and when I bought a new motorhome 2 years ago I asked him what he thought of extended warranties. He said "Pop, they don't make 'em like they used to."
That being said, I worked for years as a technical manager for a major retailer and found out that 80-percent of the money taken in on extended warranties is profit.

A/C problems extended warrenty

What seems to be the problem with all the A/C problems?? Is it related to poor power in camp grounds? Is it a problem with the design of the units, the way they are made? I feel blessed; had 4 different RV's and never a problem with A/C. Did have to turn it off a few times due to voltage getting to around 95v's at the pole. I keep a volt /cyl meter plugged in while camping. It shows if there is a problem with volts, or wiring.

X 2 I also wonder about all the issues. Must be mostly Domenic issues I assume. Later RJD

I'm on my third Dometic 13.5btu unit. The latest one is warranteed for the remaindr of hte original 2 year deal. I would love to have a longer warranty on the fridge and AC unit. I don't think the failures are related to CG low voltage. Mine worked fine at one campground, but didn't upon arriving at another.

I got a three year warranty when I bought my 2003 Georgetown. I just replaced the refrigerator using the warranty. Cost me 300.00. So far the A/C is working well. Frig turned out to be the original with the coach. Sure didn't owe me anything. I wouldn't own one of these 'holes-in-the-road' without a warranty to cover large, important items. . . just saying
