Aftermarket pin box on XLR Thunderbolt?

Looking at upgrade to pin box to smooth out the ride and take better care my thunderbolt frame. What pinbox have you installed on xlr? What results should I look for? I am looking at mor ryde 18k rubber , Trail air rotoflex, Trail air air ride pin boxes.

What pinbox comes on 380amp? 1621? 1116? My 5th wheel is stored 10 miles away from home.

Well considering you probobly have a 21,000 GVWR, you don't want to be buying an 18K pin box................

Pin Box

I just installed a Trailair on my 340AMP it is rated for 21000 and my camper is only 17000.

I love the ride now. It does not slam it floats across those bumps. No complaints here. I'm protecting my investment now. Very easy to install. You'll need a torque wrench. The pictures are on the dark side a little but what I was trying to show you is you can put the leveler on and when you do go to NAPA and get you a truck stem extention and put it on to make it easier to apply air, and regardless what other say. The little air compressor you get from Harbour Freight for $50 bucks really does work. I installed it on the entrance door side of camper at the front where my hydraulic system is located. There was a battery holder there with nothing in it so I install air compressor there so I can put air anytime I need it. Takes a few minutes to pressure up but it put pressure into my air bag at 60 lbs. I can't get picture to rotate correctly for some reason.

Hope this helps.

That Trail-Air takes care of Vertical Jounce just fine

Now I'm going to take my Thunderbolt 422AMP one more step farther and do the Vertical and Horizontal (chucking) at the same time!

It's called the "Ultra Fab Trail Air". It's the same air bag as above^ but with the horizontal motion plate added, yepper, just like a Mor/Ryde pin box. Notice the 3 grease zerks (on ea side) of the skid plate. This is the part that removes the Chucking and works just like the Mor/Ryde plate with the addition of still having the vertical bag (which Mor/Ryde does not).

Here's a link if interested (21K version) but you still have to purchase the model that matches your pin-boxes bolt pattern.

Note: A 90 degree elbow and extension may be needed on the schrader air valve.

The new version out is now called the "Flex-Air". Provides both the vertical and horizontal cushioning.
