Any photos of party Deck on XLR hyper lite 29hfs? And a few other questions

Just ordered XLR hyper lite 29hfs and can't find any photos of the party deck and how much weight it adds - Anybody? Factory is building it now and need to make a decision soon.

Also anybody have the weight- with extreme weather package, sofa, queen bed, w walk thru dinette in garage, generator, fuel station, electric Jack?

Any body using an Anderson weight / sway hitch?

Those hauling a can am Spyder - what are you using in garage to lock your Spyder down?

I pick up March 24th - can't wait

Thanks

Can't help with weights but as to the Spyder.... We just set the parking brake. Then, run a single ratchet strap through the rear wheel and attach it to a d-ring on either side. On the front wheels I just wrap a strap around each one and then back to a side d-ring. Spyder's are very easy to tie down compared to a bike. Just be careful of the finish on the wheels. The straps can scuff so put a soft cloth under where the straps contact the wheels...

Congrats on the new rig. Ours just got built as well and can't wait to pick her up...

What taken said except I strap the Spyder down using the foot pegs. No marks there.

For strapping down, I take an old athletic sock, cut off the toe so you make a tube, and slip the strap through it. Then you can place the sock over anything you don't want scratched by the strap. Good luck!

Thanks for replies - so no need to buy front tire lock down chalks -- no movement?

I would never tow my Harleys in there without chocks, but that's a 2-wheeled bike. If a Spyder is the only thing you'll be trailering, I'm not sure my opinion matters, since I'm not familiar with their characteristics. We know it won't fall over like a bike can. Does it have an automatic transmission that you can put in "park," or is it manual? The only thing you have to worry about is it moving fore-aft, so I'd think adequate front-back strapping would be all you'd need, but I'll let someone who has actually towed a Spyder confirm that.

If you do want to do chocks, I'd make them removable.

No, chocks are absolutely unnecessary. No different than putting a golf cart, atv, or side by side UTV back there. Just tie it down and done. As Taranwanderer said, chocks are to prevent a bike from falling over and add stability.

Taranwanderer, Spyders don't have a park position on the manual or auto versions. Only a parking brake.

As for pictures - it will look identical to the deck shown on the HyperLite 30HDS on the XLR Facebook Page.

I've got the andersen , just haven't used it yet w2on't be till April when i pick up my xlr 29 . I think if you have the right TV it will work just great . can't compensate for not enough truck . Spyder will be a easy tie down . a couple straps to keep from rolling and your good to go .
Everything you add on takes away from the meager cargo capacity . I have the rear queen bed , and fuel station and am rated at 2700 lbs cargo . if you add a generator onan take another 174 off that . the rear dinette another 150 and so on

Thanks for replies - I'm using a HD 1/2 ton quadrasteer w 6 liter w air bags - 10 ply tires - I know lots of peeps say you should have at least 3/4 ton but w the wider stance of the quadrasteer - this truck tows sweet! - Can't get myself to sell it - Love the quadrasteer system wish they would bring it back. For towing quadrasteer is amazing ----- had an almost 4k camper on truck and tow mastercraft ski boat, separately of course w no issue towing / hauled great. I'm not as concerned w sway do to quadrasteer system - quadrasteer keeps TV and Trailer act as one - but more on weight transfer - first time using a WD hitch system.

Only half ton the 6.0 assume diesel ? is great but the load capacity might be borderline . i'm towing with a 2003 6.0 gas 2500hd long bed std cab 4x4 with all the factory tow goodies And I'll be just about maxed . at 10,300 with a max gcwr of 16,000 . that i'll be under but close total ! assuming I'll have the 29 fully loaded to max spec of around 9675.

But then again you do have a gm

6.liter gas about 9mPG when towing lol - I am thinkin about converting to Diesel engine this winter though - have a friend that does conversions - - if only GM would bring back quadrasteer I would buy a new truck immediately. And yes I will be maxed out but got close to 300,000 miles on her and have towed and hauled maxed out all 300,000 miles great truck...... My master craft was pretty close to the TH weight so hopefully same towing outcome............

that 6.0 is a great engine , hell of a work horse .It's not easy getting rid of a truck you trust . I know mine is just getting her legs at 110,000 , getting ready for a complete service for the next 100,000 . I'm sure it'll be fine ,if we don't always take it to the max we aren't living . I know I'm right there with mine and I'm bigger then you .lol

Not with a 33' trailer i can't , std cab long box is pretty tight .really only a few inches difference .<G>
I'm going to be using the Andersen . after days of research , reading reviews , talking to people who've used it , talking to Andersen . I've just about drove Jason over at andersen nuts with my calls . i made the choice to get one , haven't used it yet but have 0 worries . Came in a week ago and got the wrong frame brackets . they sent out the ones needed and a return label for the others , no cost . when you have a company that is that involved it takes the worry off .

Not sure . only one andersen wd hitch . you need the 2 5/16 ball . the 6" frame brackets . i got the 8' drop rise shank . figure i could cut it down if needed . . the Ansersen is one stout unit , very impressed with the material used , the shank is one solid chunk of steel . the brackets are at least about 3/8 thick . I got mine from
Andersen Weight Distribution Hitch | No Sway | Hitches Online . just pick the right sized ball and brackets 6" for us , drop and rise shank and your done . can't wait to use it a little over 4 weeks
