Automatic LP regulator changover

I have searched and read a lot about the automatic changeover of the lp dual tanks but still have some doubts that I know how this works. Could someone tell me what brand I have on my 2012 HFS and How it works? I am going to try and post a picture of it. I has the orange and green dots. I am confused about whether or not I am supposed to manually turn this thing or if it does it automatically. We asked the guy filling the tanks at Pilot and he turned it back and forth several times before he advised that he was not sure how it worked

I was told it only ran on the tank that has the green dot and it had to be manually changed that it wouldn't do it automatically.

I know that it will actually automatically switch over to the other tank. It has been doing that, but just dont know if I have to manually turn the dial for the colors to reflect that.

We were told that it functions as it's name implies - when one tank is empty, it automatically switches to the other tank, assuming the tank is full.

The dots show which tank is full (green) or empty (red/orange).

FWIW - either we didn't understand how it works or it didn't work the first time one of our tanks went empty and we found that both tanks were empty.

The dealer installed a new one and we have not yet emptied a tank, so we are not sure it works or not.

I just have not been paying close enough attention to the green and orange dots during operation. We have only refilled them twice and refilled them both at the same time?

B47 when you refilled the tank, did you manually turn the dial to one tank of the other?

Yes and that is the last time I have touched it.

It switches from one to the other automatically and the red dot lets you know that. Thus, you know to fill the empty one. At that point switch the valve and get the empty one filled. My experience has been to turn both tanks OFF when you remove the empty one to get it filled, or you get a little seepage from the line that is disconnected.

OK that makes sense. I think I have wrapped my head around it. I guess they thought it was so easy we did not need the user info on it.

OP, your pic appears to be the 924N automatic changeover regulator.
the dots tell witch tank is being used. 2 green dots show primary tank, 2 red dots show that tank 1 is empty and regulator has changed to tank 2. you can change dial to show 2 green dots, thus starting the process over. now that we are all confused , the web site for the regulator is cavagnagroup.com
