wow, looks like a friday-afternoon kinda job...

i dont expect perfection myself, in the end its still just a damn camper (regardless of it being a little single axle bumper pull or a 43ft XLR) but stuff like this should not be happening this day and age.

That plumbing job is nothing but utter BS. Even if they had the black valve placed properly, it doesnt take much more than an ape to realize that the gray valve could be better located/orientated.

I agree 100%. Haven't heard back from Lazy Days yet, on if FR will repair this setup. If they don't, we are planning to do it ourselves. I am amazed this made it out the door with this config, but guess they figured nobody would crawl underneath to inspect it before it was purchased. If that was their thoughts, guess they thought right :/

Mine is not like that. I can drain the black and grey independently. I don't like the fact you have to climb under the trailer to reach some of the valves. I tried using a stick, it was better, but I am looking at the remote valve. It would have been so nice to have them lined up in a three valve handle.

I'm not defending FR, and I'm not thrilled with the plumbing setup you've described, BUT:

My thought was that maybe it was to allow you to put grey water into the black tank. Unfortunately, it's a 2-way street and you would also be putting black water into the grey. But I'm wondering if there was some kind of method to their madness.

All that being said, I would re-plumb it, too.

These are plumbed wrong. Contact Diane in warranty. I have sent her an email and told her to expect your call. She is out till the 5th of January.
