A tree branch broke the vent cap off, it looks like the cap just snaps in. Do I have to buy the whole vent or can the cap be purchased seperate? Does anyone have a link? Also, the color of mine is black.
I just replaced three vent assemblies on my 2011 XLR 30 X 14. However, Camping World sells a vent lid only that just snaps into the old vent assembly. I replaced the entire assemblies because they had become brittle. While I was on the roof I discovered the bathroom skylight was also cracked, probably because of heat expansion. Got one on order. On the meantime I used Dycor caulking on the cracks to temporarily prevent any leakage.
I have had 2 siphon 360 top caps break and lift up. These are a 2 piece vent (base piece and top piece). The top piece has 5 legs with tabs and holes drilled in the end. They just slide down in the base cap. There should be no reason one would have to replace the entire vent cap. New rv, new caps, why would I remove the dicor and have to take the whole unit off! I used a small flat putty knife to lift the small tail piece segment of the broken tab out of the base. All I need are 2 more top caps. I would have to pay $30 each for the complete vent cap just to get the $2 tops off. If this is the case it is a racket. If it were a one piece unit, I get it, but it is not.
