Build Time

Play Harder,
What was the actual build time for your order? My dealer has indicated 10 weeks is the average.
Thanks....

Mine was ordered 12/1 and rolled off the line on Jan 19th. It took longer to get to the dealer though as I ordered full body paint so it had to go to paint, then back to factory, then to dealer. Actual time from order to build completion was 7 weeks though. If I didn't get the paint, it would have been to the dealer within a week of completion so 8 weeks total for a non paint unit would be my guess.

Taken,
Appreciate the timeline you shared but now I'm hoping I can have mine in 8 weeks...

I placed my order on March 2nd but the dealer had also placed 2 orders the week before for his lot. He was going to adjust one of his previous weeks order to be my build (fingers crossed). Either way, I'm looking at the end of April - mid May for my delivery. Just hate the waiting game....

Tell me about it. I've been waiting since Dec 1st and still don't have mine. It just hit the dealer last week and we're going out to pick it up the end of the month...

I ordered on 2/27/2015 but got lucky because RVwholesellers had One that was already on the factory line In the process on being built and where able to put a change order in --- for all the upgrades I wanted ....RVWHOLESELLERS seems have about 8 on order - so if your timing is right you get it done in 4 weeks 😊

Taken --let's see the pics of your custom paint Job --- I Really wanted more color too and didn't know that was an option - would of loved to add one of the color options they have on the XLR thunderbolt -- alway thought the HyperLight needed some color.

Taken,
I assumed you had yours by now. The custom paint job seems to add a lot of time on the process. Bummer...

Play Harder,
You did seem to time that perfectly...

Northstar,
For the 29hfs, the base colors are fine for me. If I was stepping up to 5'fer line, I would be looking into the custom paint. Does not seem to be that much more (per other posts...). But I need to get a new truck before I go to the 5'fer line. The 2004 GMC 3/4 has been great but I don't want to push her that hard.

Ordered mine Mar 20, 2014 picked up May 18... RV Wholesalers. Not bad, given there was a slight delay due to model year change. Mine is a 2015 (29HFS).

There are a bunch of the progress as it was being painted in the factory tour thread starting on page 5 then completed ones on page 6. I'll have much better ones once I pick her up.

PS: If you go back a few pages you can actually see my rig being built with pictures from the line.

Ordered mine on 3/14/14 and it took 17 weeks, picked up on 7/20/14. Way longer than I was told it would take, so be prepared...

Ordered my 29HFS right after the first of the year, it arrived at the dealer March 12, although I can't pick it up for another couple of weeks. My dealer told me it would be about 10 weeks when I ordered it and he was spot on.

I think time of year has a LOT to do with it. Right now is peak order/build season. Spring is coming and the RV shows have been generating orders for a couple of months.

Thumbs up

Play Harder,
Congrats... Don't forget pictures and write ups on your travels back home.

My local dealer called FR for an estimate on my build (ordered on 3/2). 4/20 is supposed to be day it rolls off the line. We will see if this holds true....

Hi all I am new here so just want to say Hi and looking forward to trading good tips here. I ordered my xlr 29hfs in October 2015 and was supposed to have it in 6 weeks, but got delayed a few weeks due to a shortage on materials. I picked up the week before Christmas.
