Christmas Gift Upgrades

So, the family (bride and mother) were asking for Christmas ideas. Looks like a couple are en route. The last was too much $. Perhaps I can gift that to myself...

1) RV Snap Pad rubber pads for the 6 Level Up landing gear feet. No more lining up pads or blocks as they are lowering. These are on for life and make "one touch leveling" more one touch than before...

2) MorRyde HD shackle kit. I've wanted to update the smallish stock Dexter shackles since I got my rig but haven't gotten around to it. MorRyde makes a kit with all the shackles and longer wet bolts to accommodate. The kit for my specific application isn't on their website so it's a call to order thing to make sure you get the right quantities. Part # UO12-030.

3) From me to me... Wilson Electronics just came out with an RV specific cell phone booster. I had a pieced together home/auto setup in my last hauler that worked great but involved extensive permanent installation. The new "RV 4G" system can utilize your existing satellite coax inlet if your not using it to connect the outside antenna to the inside one which you can hide behind your LR TV where the satellite coax ends up anyway. Then, when needed, hook up the outside antenna to the inlet and hang on or near your RV for great signal inside. It can't give signal where there is none, but my past experience has gotten me from 1 bar outside only to 3-4 bars inside the RV. It's not only a help on the phone end but we also use my phone as a hotspot to our laptop when no park WIFI is available. Need good signal for that!

Now to hope I've been good so my Santa's all come through for me...

Like the pads and the shackle kit. Both are mods I'd like to make somewhere down the line. Curious how the booster works if you "santa" it for yourself, though I kind of enjoy going camping and having the phone not work.

Most of the camper stuff I wanted I had to order myself this year..............unless Santa will send one of his elves to install it all Christmas night!

I hear you on the phone thing but I love having info at my fingertips. Data is the more important component of the signal boost.

Will post if I actually end up with any or all and their actual value in the field...

Like I said, I had one in my last rig and I run a Wilson unit at my home as well. The one at home took me from 1 bar with my cell phone in the window sill only to 3-4 all throughout the first floor. I'm hoping the RV unit will be similar or my CFO will have my head...

Oh absolutely. Data is why I really wanted it as I like to hotspot my laptop off my phone. Boosted signal is boosted signal. It goes up for all a phone can do...
