Every campground except three that I have been to do not allow gas golf carts -- the one where I have a seasonal site, Spring Gulch in East Earl, PA and Misty Mountain Near to Charlottesville, VA and Bethpage Camp Resort in Urbanna, VA.
I despise gas golf carts because they are so noisy -- some people do everything they can to make them louder for some reason -- why would they do this? The quiet ones are as loud as a construction generator and they really bug me when they are zipping back and forth on the campground roads past my site just for the heck of it. Electric golf carts are fine with me, but I still get irritated by them being used as toys zipping around the campground.

I love Harleys, but the owners of Harleys don't tend to get their kicks by riding back and forth through the campgrounds.

We're in a seasonal campground that allows carts, in the past 14 years that we've been there they made a lot of changes on the golf cart rules. When we first got there you could have a gas or electric, three wheeler or four wheeler. As the years when by they outlawed the three wheelers because their insurance company thought they were unsafe. A few years later out went the gas powered carts. I really miss mine, very quiet, a tank of gas lasted a long time, probably filled it only twice a year. I never saw a problem with the gas carts, some of the old two stroke ones were a bit loud but no fires or anything. With the electric ones I've seen batteries explode, cables burn, small fires from wires shorting out, all from poor maintenance most likely. Anyway, most of the campgrounds we've been to seem to be on the same track, electric only. With our old travel traver we would drive the cart up a set of ramps right in the back of our pickup, pretty steep but it did it no problem, a white knuckle ride with wet ramps, lol. The ramp of the toy hauler will be no problem.

Probably true, but when you have over 40,000 people on a holiday week on 310 acres 800 plus campsites 2500 plus permanent home/camp sites lines have to be drawn.......... 400 plus employees in the summer months. And........over 1000 golf carts running around..........

Looks that way they are booked from May till August all 800 plus sites............... and the rental houses as well .......
but it is a lot of fun there we do prefer the off seasons but time with the kids is priceless.........

Except that our SPs in PA don't consider us adults enough to allow alcohol. Hey, I'm 45 years old...if I want to sit around my campfire and have a beer, I'm going to do it. So Ranger Rick from the DCNR can kiss off. Not to mention the our SP fees are getting to be just as high as private CGs, which do allow alcohol, bikes, and even--gasp--dogs!
