If you have a tiny weak person and a LARGE strong person moving a heavy couch... the tiny will drag cushions while LARGE carries the couch. I carry a lot of cushions

It is important to have multiples of the same batteries of the same age. If not, they tend to fail prematurely. When one heads south it takes the other.

Bigger is better.

You need a better definition of your plan. Those who never boondock can keep the single marine battery the dealer put in. If you do some overnights without plug ins then several deep cycle batteries work best. If there is a deep cycle sticker on the battery it is generally a hybrid. Not good. 24’s, 27’s etc.

Gc2 six volts are the best bang for the buck. Have to buy in pairs. In series. These are constructed to provide double the life of marine batteries in general. More juice as well. $100 each at Costco.

If you boondock much a battery monitor is a good plan. The standard leds are relatively useless. Battery life for wet cells is 6-8 years if you take care of them. 1 year if you don’t.

Then there are serious boondockers. Lots of battery capacity and lithium batteries and solar.p

Any electric fridge is an issue. Battery hogs. Heaters are also big battery users.

Get familiar with battery usage by appliances.

When you connect two or more batteries that don't charge and discharge at the same rate, one battery will probably end up overcharged and/or one battery will end up undercharged. Neither is a scenario you want to have happen to your batteries, as it will probably shorten the lifespan of both and could create a potentially create a dangerous situation, if one battery gets severely overcharged.
