Our 2014 FR XLR 42' 5th is in the shop for some repairs. The dealer is having big problems because is spite of him sending a picture of the spec sheet in the cupboard, FR says the Vin number does not exist. There is no outside tag on it. Is the VIN Number stamped or shown anywhere else? Has anyone else had this problem?

I might suggest going with the number on your registration for your license plate. This information is gleaned from the title or the Manufacturer's Statement of Origin. You may want to check this against the sheet in the cabinet. Were it me, I would call FR myself, and take the proverbial bull by the horns. It could also be that the trailer was built during the 2013 model run, but sold and titled as a 2014, but I don't see where FR would have problems finding their own records! I know this happens on motorized units, as they run out whatever number of chassis they have on hand. My 2014 has a 2013 chassis, but no problems.
I had a similar issue. The shop said they could only use a VIN actually on the rig, and the one on the spec label on the outside front was rubbed off. I eventually found it on the king pin frame, but it was hard to see because it was shallow and painted over.
