Furnace Upgrades

Looking for verification if possible. I have been told that the furnaces in the XLR HyperLite are from Suburban Manufacturing. When I check their website it seems that SF Series matches closest to what is installed. If this is true, is it possible to get a larger BTU model in the same series line?

Just curious if you have any input on this. Thank you for your time...

If you do get a larger BTU model, you better check on getting much bigger propane tanks. Furnaces don't sip propane, they chug a lug it.

Will keep this in mind. It may just be better to look into installing a Wave unit like WW did...

Ceramic heaters are cheaper but you need a generator or shore power.

Luckily, I will have either shore power or my generator with me if I go with a Wave. But always good to call these items...

Actually if you have a furnace that's heats your space properly it will use less propane than a furnace too small that has to run 24/7 that can't get the temperature needed -- - there really isn't that much difference in price from a 20btu to 35btu and the main concern would be the amps it draws - not really the propane usage-

I am very interested in this topic, and I would like to talk to somebody at FR to discuss off forum - - but been crazy busy this week at work to follow thru -- going camping this weekend and will have a 24/7 opinion on Monday -

It will be the 29HFS. I have it on order and I'm told hit should be completed by the end of April.

The SF20 furnace used in this model, is the only size that will fit in the space allotted.

The Wave 6 (or 8) uses propane and not much of it, also no fan to draw down the batt-rees. Only issue is oxygen and it not being vented. Either get a low oxy sensor / alarm or make sure you crack a window open. It runs at the same pressure as the range, not on the little bottles like Heater Buddy does. I have one of these for a little greenhouse and bought an adapter hose to run on 20#ers.

See the flexible elbow lower right on the unit. I T'd off the range line. Make sure if anyone gets one to get the cover, they don't like dust and can get fouled.

Hello! that's what I thought... good to know. What if a clever guy built a box forward of the rear side door; in the garage and mounted another SF20, ducted into the garage and maybe into the bathroom? This isn't for me, because I have the Wave heater.
