I used some liquid nails to put 1/4 solid maple stained to match up and then screw the mount to the maple and wall.

We did the bed ting at first but want to be able to get to the loft one easily and also need a place to put it when not in use.

Just be careful when you strap it down on the top bunk.
I did that all the time and one time after pulling, I brought the bed down and the ladder got caught in my awning and ripped the whole thing down..... :-(

Ike what awning did the ladder catch inside the camper. Only one I can think of would be the big screen or 3season doors. He's how we fixed ours. Click image for larger version

Ladder Storage

It actually hit the pull down screen roll and pulled the whole thing down.
I am going to look at your clamp idea. How did you secure those clamps to the wall? There is a lot of foam behind the wall. Also working on a door project (screen door) to get rid of those flimsy plastic latches and replace them with magnets.

ID:	88368If you look close you can see a 1/4 piece of maple behind the clamp. I used liquid nails to hold it to the wall and used a long enough screw on the clamp to go through the wood and wall.
