Warmer weather softens the rubber fuel hose. Ever have the straw suck shut while drinking a thick milkshake? Now imagine a 35ft. straw. The pump at the back pressurized the line.

Sorry, the filter was included in the package with the pump.

I added another inline fuel pump near the fuel tanks as well... i agree that 40 + feet is a long way to try and draw fuel down a soft rubber hose to the genny.
This was after opening every crimped / partially crushed clamp down the frame.

The Airtex E11007 is a commonly used aftermarket fuel pump for the Onan 4.0KY RV Generators.
The Airtex E11015 is used on the 5.5 and the 7.0 HGJAB units.

I wish I would have found this post before I went down the path of changing my pump, fuel lines and heat wrap. I too added a 2nd fuel pump after both of those options failed and my fuel pump knocking was solved.

I personally have had no issues with our 4K but I use a fuel stabilizer and exercise it regularly when it sits at home. The carburetors are another issue too. Worst thing for these units is to just let them sit. It amazes me to see the problems people have with a product by a company that has been around for decades. Best of luck

Agree with you suppose to be one of the best on the market. Keep stabilizer in mine all time and run it a minimum of 2 hours a month of they sit idle they develop problems

Have a 2007 7.0 Marquis Gold. The unit ran flawlessly for 40 hours over the weekend running 2 15,000 btu ac's on 98°heat. Unit is exercised monthly with load, fuel stabilizer in tank when stored, and serviced regularly. Has over a 2,000 hours. See no reason it shouldn't continue to operate for another 10 years. I'm the second owner. When I acquired the unit several years ago it had an intake manifold leak. Since I was replacing the intake before installing in the RV, decided it was best to replaced the carburetor, fuel pump, brushes and clean the slip-rings.
