How do you tell when fresh water tank is full?
How do you tell when the fresh water tank is full- when you are filling it up? The manual says that they have a small hole that will shoot out water to let you know. Mine does not. What happened was it filled up the tank then filled up on top of the underbelly covering and then finally started pouring out around the edge.
What am I supposed to do? Stay inside and watch the LED indicator on the control panel?

You should have a vent hose coming coming out the top of your tank, that allows air to escape and water will come out when tank is full. Sounds like maybe your hose has come off, or possibly was never attached at all.

When I fill my freshwater tank it means I'm getting ready to boondock/dry camp. I fill it until it overflows!

I fill mine very slowly............... 20 minutes or better to fill.
I trickle it in till it starts gurgling back out.

Pretty sure everyone fills until it overflows, but if your overflow is dumping into your covered underbelly, as the OP stated, you have a problem.

My overflow tube actually comes out through the bottom of my underbelly, right next to my FW tank drain. When it pours out it's full. My last TT had vent tube right next to fill though.

Was just wondering when I fill my water tank mine drains out the bottom to tell me I'm full I get that. My question is when I'm hauling it the movement and flex makes water pour out of tank and when I stop it stops. But if I travel to far will it just keep pouring out or should I plug it while I'm moving than unplug it when I park so tank can breath? Any help would be great
Thanks Sam 2581

Don't think you have anything to worry about, it's just the sloshing motion of a full tank. Once the water level gets below the vent, it will stop or at least slow down and stop when you stop the vehicle.

I have an XLR 35 x 12 and travel 5 to 12 hours a trip. By the time i get to where im going i was losing 20-30 gal of water because of the sloshing around, now i fill it till it comes out the overflow then bend the rubber overflow line in half and ziptie it till i get to where im going.

I put a shut off valve at the end of my vent vent hose and just close it when travelling.

well - I lost about 1/3 of a tank to sloshing on a trip. Was heading to a state park that did not have water at campsite so filled it before I left. Was VERY surprised how much of the tank sloshed out.

Me either, but we rarely, if ever travel with over 5-10 gal in the fw tank.
