hood vent hard to open on xlr hyperlite 29hfs

Can anyone tell me the secret on how to open the vent on the outside of my xlr hyperlite 29fhs. The vent is on the outside and is for the exhaust of the hood over the burners inside.

they will move, but may take a bit of nudging at first. they are tight but they will move. and yes, that is what you move to open it.

Sometimes they get caulked shut on a new unit. It will eventually open if you keep playing with it.

If those are the newer vents...you push UP on the tabs and it should pop open. (as opposed to the old style that had a tab that swiveled out of the way.

Proceed with caution. Ours was so tight I actually broke one of the tabs off. Now I just leave ours in the open position all the time.

They are tight. Push on the two tabs at the same time you pull out. Another well designed nearly useless product! Like my windows it takes three hands; once I had mine open I didn't close it again. I upgraded my range vent since.... Posted pics on the forum. Moves way more air and quiet.

The tabs are a little tight when they are new. No problem opening and closing after about 5-7 cycles; much better than those old swivel tab models. It's only a useless product if you don't understand how to properly
operate it.

If you have the type of vent in my photo then it's more of an outward and upward push.
