You don't think about mileage with this setup, if you do?, you probably won't go this route!

I own a company with a bunch of Frieghtliners, the smaller ones like that have a Mercedes diesel/drive train, 20-24' boxes 33Klbs gross; CDL. Empty not bad, about 8. Loaded with 8ton (16K) they go down to about 5mpg, maybe 6 at best w a tailwind.

I have a friend that has a sport chassis pulling a 42' slant with living quarters horse trailer with 6 horses on board and he gets 12-13 mpg all the time.

The new 600hp Cummins are all-out-beasts. The 450 is not bad either, but that 600hp has like 1950 ft/TQ.

I know of 2 couples with the Entegra (45' Coach) with the 600hp Cummins, their Cornerstone models get 6.5 & 6.7 mpg ave (computer read). They never complain (probably b/c they have near unlimited funds) but they also can beat a 'vette up a steep grade. ...well, almost!

Power = Pocketbook... or is it... Pocketbook = Power!?

It has the 9.0 Cummins and in the mountains so far I'm getting about 9 mpg with a lot of up hill.

If it is the ISL9, that was a medium duty engine that will definitely get pretty good mileage. The down side is that it only has (I believe) around 500 or so Ft/lbs Torque. Sounds like it's sufficing nicely however!

If I had that truck, I "might" think about letting the wife pull the camper some. But only "might".
