When I was asking the service manager at my dealer about the JT Strong arms he quoted me around $500.00 for the set. He said when ordering them it came with both, front and rear. That's why I said only $130.00 for the BAL brand. I also only put them on the front of my 5er.

They were ripping you off then. Mine was 4 front, two for the rear.

All the commercially sold ones are rip offs, you can make your own a lot cheaper if you have the facilities.

True, but not all of us have their own fabricating shop.

Finished the front install on mine today. The two hiccups I had were (a) I couldn't install the port side front frame bracket because the LP pipe is in the way--it runs right under the frame almost all the way back to the axles, so I need to change how/where that pipe goes, and I wasn't prepared for that today. The other hiccup (b) was that one of the arms, inside the little bung where you screw in the "T" handle, wasn't threaded! So that needs to go back to JT.
Hopefully I can get the rears on next weekend..

F350TH, I am hoping to find time to get these installed this weekend. On the front bars, did you mount to the front storage box using the reinforcing plates? If not where did you mount them?

I mounted them with the plates in the generator compartment. Was super easy.

Be easier to just buy a tap and tap it yourself.

Just ordered JTs for my 29HFS. I hope to install them next weekend. Will report on the install and usage later this month.

You're not kidding. I didn't realize that JT was bought out by Lippert. While they were willing to send me a new one, I had to fight with them over it to get them to do it--they didn't want to honor the 2-year warranty because I bought from Amazon, not directly from them. So yes, they were going to send me a new one, but I figured if I wanted to get it done, I'd have to tap it myself. I have a tap set around here somewhere, but I just wound up taking it to my auto mechanic, who's a great dude, and he did it. So...
I finished the install yesterday too. Got the rears on, and despite the fact that's it's only 2 arms instead of the 4 up front, the rear was harder. Had to drill into a square tube crossmember and use the self-tapping bolts, which $uck, to say the least. Glad it's done, trying it out next weekend at Lake George!

Oh, and one last piece of the install: I photocopied the instruction page on how to set up with the JT kit in place, laminated it, and sticking it inside the propane door. That way it's always with me for when I start forgetting stuff...😉

Installed JT's on my 29HFS today. Can't report on the actual benefits until we go camping next weekemd. The install was pretty easy once you get the first one installed and just repeat for the rest. The instructions were lengthy and could have been shorter with just a few more pictures but overall they were not too bad. The only real issue I had was the "self tapping" bolts were not self tapping. I ended up just tapping the 8 holes that I needed and moved on.
Hoping the work as good as everyone has indicated... :-)

First night camping with the JTs. Happy to report they are doing their job. My wife indicated that she is happy so that means I'm happy...
