I guess I’m a bit like CHP because I don’t care (to some degree) that much GVWR either. What I do care about is that the vehicle feels stable (subjective) and isn’t laboring to keep me moving. Be a large farm tractor or a little scooter, you know when you are asking too much from the vehicle. I like the confident feeling of windows down, music cranked, cruise set for 70, and at the end of a 600 mile day my lower back isn’t sore and my nerves aren’t fried (like they are after driving 100 miles in a snowstorm). It’s been an enjoyable day on the road!
With the 6.7 there’s no laboring issues (it’s a beast), and my comment about not wanting to tow anything much bigger is related to stability. I feel (again subjective) that I’m not that far away (weight) from a sore back and fried nerves. But I haven’t towed anything larger…so I really don’t know.
Sound like you are going to have a great looking rig…enjoy, and let us know how it does out on the road (I’m curious… I’m might want to upgrade to a 375)!

For what its worth, when we had our former Cyclone, it was close to 20,000 loaded. I had an '09 F350 SRW. Pulled it like a champ and extremely stable.
I swapped it out for an F450 just because I was way over on rear axle. Had it not been for that, we would have never changed.
Me personally. I would be totally fine with Nguyenbio's future set-up.

Yep, that's the benefit of XLR's light pin weight compared to the competition... Keeps a SRW under on all weights but GCWR which is fabricated nonsense based on fluff and fairy dust.

Per the CHP, they do not use the weight plate of the vehicle due to the fact that it's strictly for registration purposes. They are only concern about Tire Capacity and licensing. The tires are the weakest link of almost all towing situations.
The weight plate in California is used by the state to charge a weight fee in addition to yearly registration. I pay an additional 260.00 a year due to weight.

You won't be over GVWR, GAWR, or tire ratings with the XLR's light pin. That's what first got me investigating XLR over the competition. Similar floor plans from other brands have pins 1k+ more. No matter how I load my garage or trailer, I'm never over my ratings except GCWR and I've been loaded around 20k. Back to regularly scheduled programming... Congrats on the rig. Now is a perfect time to fill the work bench with accessories for when she comes in....

Yes, 2888# is light compared to most large haulers. A Voltage with the same floor plan is closer to 4k. The average 350 SRW has around 3000-3200 of scaled payload with the hitch and family in and fueled up. My pin with the garage empty and with the rest of the trailer loaded / ready to vacation is 2900# as per the CAT scale. Load the garage with 1500# and my pin is 2620# on the scale. (Also with the trailer loaded and ready to camp.)
Garage empty:
Garage with 1500#:
RAWR = 7k
Rear tire rating = 7500

This one and the previous are both with the garage empty so the truck sags a touch more due to increased pin.
Some would add bags to level but I prefer to let the factory suspension work as designed. The trailer is about 1" from level front to back and even closer with the garage loaded.

Love the simplicity of the colors. Any color as long as its silver, I say. FYI, an outlaw of mine tows with a Freightliner' sport chassis... a Carri-lite; 5 slides... It has 4000# of TW and gross combined of right at 28K#... He wouldnt pull it with a DRW one ton.
