Just wanting to vent

Getting loaded for a week of camping (our first with the XLR) and noticed one of the upper front marker lights has quit on me. Had to take the 5W back to the dealer for 2 other bad marker lights that got water intrusion. Also noticed that if I turn on the ramp lights while hooked to the truck my reverse lights on my truck turn on. Anyone else had similar experience? What is the preferred method for loading as my ramp is so steep my golf cart (48v) stalled unless I got a good run up beforehand. Thanks

The loading lights are also triggered through your trucks back up lights so it's normal that the trucks back up lights are backfed if you switch on the loading lights through the trailer switch. No problem there. The LED's have a history of water intrusion. I had to replace two of mine. Sucks but XLR will replace them under warranty for you. As to your cart, that's crazy if a 48V cart can't make the ramp. Mine will climb a wall if I let it. I'm thinking it's the cart rather than the ramp angle...

I recently purchased the cart from a private seller and do have a couple issues with it. So that is probably the problem. I will contact my dealer today so they can get a new light ordered.

The light should be an easy swap out. When I did mine, the only tough part is the wire connectors where the trailer's wiring connected to the lights leads met were hooked inside the hole they pass through leaving me very little wire to work with. I had two with moisture inside and both were a tough swap. I was terrified when I cut the wires, the leads would pop back inside the hole and I wouldn't be able to pull them back out. So, I did one at a time and installed extensions on each in case I ever had to pull them out again. As to the cart, there is a forum for them with a lot of knowledgeable folks that can likely help you figure your issue. Buggies Gone Wild Golf Cart Forum Post up over there and I bet they get you sorted...

Our old Cyclone had a fairly steep ramp. The cart would stumble if the batteries were getting low. But even then, I could just raise the front of the camper to lower the angle of the ramp.

By the way. The first problem we ever had on our Work & Play was an LED light going out in the nose. Warrantied.

Thx guys, I thought about raising the front the XLR. We are going to a hilly area so just makes me worried it won't have the needed torque. Guess I will find out lol

You could always add a small winch to the front of the garage floor ( might need to add a roller at the garage lip for the cable).

I used a Warn battery operated winch off one of my D-rings to pull our PWC and trailer into our garage. However again, carts are torque monsters and if it can't climb a steep ramp, something is off. Perhaps as KFX said, it's a low or worn out battery situation.

Sounds to me like an excuse to buy a gas cart with power kit.

Does your CG allow gassers Bob? Most places we go it's a sparky or nothing...

I don't golf... Just use my cart to tour the campgrounds. Not warm enough right now for that either...

Anywhere from Virginia to Florida it's warm enough for golf. Won't last much longer in Virginia though!

I own a Toyhauler was well and I have heard conflicting information on gas / electric golf carts in campgrounds. I am currently looking to buy one now but not sure which one to purchase. Thanks for bringing this up and sorry not trying to highjack this thread from the original subject.

It depends on the area Brian. Where we are in the Northeast is super uptight. Most campgrounds in my home state don't allow ANY carts and it's hit or miss in the surrounding states. Go south and west and it's no problem at all. As to gas vs. electric, many that do allow it are strictly electric. And, don't let the battery thing scare you. Electric motors can really scoot...

Thanks for the response, we are located in Tennessee and our rules are similar to yours. Our State and Corp.Of Engineers parks don't allow them. Most private campgrounds allow them, we've actually rented from quite a few of them. I think that you are dead on only allowing electric motors aleast that's what most people down here has told me. Thanks again for your help I was already leaning towards a electric motor anyways.

Gaser for us. We winter in Port Aransas and register and license our cart for street use and to drive on the beach roads. Don't want to park and walk the beach and come back to a dead cart.

Ok so apparently I was worried over nothing with the cart, the roads in the camp we are at have over 100 ft of elevation change and we have had no problems so far, it could have just been me that was the issue... As for the toy hauler, we have found a couple other things that need to be fixed, the awning leaks like a sieve during heavy rain where the led light strip is. Not acceptable.... I also added a wifi extender 800mw and a roku stick so I can watch pretty much anything now on Amazon or Netflix or any other service. Also can stream music so that is good... Did 400 miles yesterday with no issues..

What is it that is leaking around the awning lights.
