Kicking Myself (a little)

So, while I was in Florida for Bike Week, I was amazed that there were actually three XLR campers in the campground I stayed in. I introduced myself to the nice couple in the 34' Nitro, and they invited me in for a tour. Many similarities, a few differences. Now here's where I get to the kicking myself part...

When I ordered my 30 HFS-5, I purposely left out the dinette/sofa in the garage. We did the 3 recliner sofa in the living room, so my unit has no dinette. Which I was OK with. Now, in my defense, my dealer wasn't very clear on how the garage dinette worked: I thought the dinette was always there, "down," and would have been in the way if I was trying to haul 2 bikes (which was the whole point of trading the TT for a TH.) But after seeing this Nitro, I now realize that the dinette would be in the same tracks as the Happi-Jack bed and would go up out of the way during travel. My dealer did not make this clear! Had I known that was how the garage dinette worked, I would have ordered it with one.

So, the question now becomes: is it possible to add said "Happi-Jack Dinette Sofa" to my unit? Anyone done this after the fact? This might be a good question for BulletBob. I love my rig, it performed well in FL, but always looking to add more functionality. Thoughts please!

Sure you can. I never have installed one, but see why not.

When I was at the camper show, the FR vendor rep indicated that you could order the bed or dinette thru the dealer at anytime in the future. Something to check out.

You absolutely can install the bed and dinette after the fact. Like many other Lippert components, they will only sell to an authorized dealer to install. Happijac will sell replacement parts direct but I don't see where they sell the entire setup as a kit so you may be forced to go the RV dealer route. You'll want to check with XLR with your vin so you make sure you get the correct fabric or leather to match your RV's decor.

That would be awesome if you could, thanks. Then at least then I could prepare myself (and the CFO) for the idea financially...😂

Sorry T, I seem to have deleted it by accident. I hate when I do that stuff. But yeah. FR was great in getting me the info. The bed was around $600 something, the dinette was around 1200? Maybe? I think? Lol.

I covered this in a thread called "Pass Thru dinette 27XLR" pricing and numbers
We had this in our "27" and had it moved to our "29"
so do able just pricy
We are now removing dinette in living area, and replacing it with the recliner
