I've been getting stuff from HitLights. They have very good customer service and very knowledgeable people up there.

Thanks to klarowe for some good ideas!!!

I ended up getting RGB lights and replaced the bright white lights. I found an inline RGB controller with remote that worked really well, it even almost got in the track it was so small. I cut the wire at the awning track and installed the controller. Then waterproofed with shrink electrical tubing and wrapped with electrical tape. I cut down the wire track clip and reinstalled to help hold the wires in place on either side of the connection. Now it work off the switch inside still and can then be adjusted by remote. Another good thing is the remote that came with it works on RF. seems to work within about 30ft or so.

Ended up working out really well!

It's actually not as bright as the white lights that came from the factory. Plus the remote installed has a dimmer.

OG--which kit did you wind up getting from hitlights? Looking at your remote, it only looks like they have short sections of RGB lights with that one. Did you have to buy a kit and then also buy a longer RGB strip?

I bought the Luma 10 series RGB waterproof strip and the controller from the pictures. I gave up infinite colors, but made for a hell of a lot easier install. I've seen on here where people were having to take their controllers down every trip or having to do a whole bunch of wiring. I'm lazy by nature and I chose the path of least resistance. I cut into the power right at the LED strip and installed the controller. Made it as waterproof as possible. If it rusts out, all I need is another $14 controller.

So it was this controller:

Luma10 Series - R108 Multicolor LED Controller - With RF Remote Control

And this strip?:

Dreaming Style RGB Kit

The only reason I ask is that FR couldn't seem to properly affix my LED strip to the camper body, and even after the dealer "fixed" it, it's still coming loose in places, and I see me replacing it someday. Someday soon.

Correct on the controller.

These were the strips.. I chose high intensity & waterproof.

I think you posted the kit which comes with a power supply. You shouldn't need that unless you plan on plugging into a 110 outlet. You should be able to cut wire at awning feeding existing LED. Splice on the RGB Controller and then plug in the 4pin on the LED.

Our XLR has a track right under the awning fabric that is the correct size to pop in the LED strip. I didn't have to glue it down. The adhesive on the strips is so so at best. I would bet all of them would come down after a year or two.

Thanks for the info. I didn't see a power supply on that controller kit, just the remote and the inline controller. Plus it was $14.99, and that's what you said you paid for it....

I'm gonna have to lobby the DW for RGB lights...not sure if she'll go for it.
