LED marker lights

Are starting to burn out in less then a yr . this should not happen, both front top marker lights have a couple burned out leds . not sure if i bother getting FR to send me new ones and end up with the same issue in yr or less . or do i just buy some good aftermarket lights and replace ? more bottom of the line components from FR . save 10cents here and there really must add up for them . To bad they can't see the light and use some good materials from the start

one it did the other it did not . still no reason for this to happen . not sure if i go to FR for replacements or just bite the bullet and buy some good marker lights . I'm sure FR wants most the go the buy your own route . if i do the FR route it most likely will takes weeks instead of a day or even hrs . almost think they will all need replaced soon enough may as well start getting good replacements that last .

I had problems with front leds and the back. I noticed when I replaced mine FR silicone all the way around the chrome piece and I believe when it rains or so moisture is trapped behind the chrome outer piece. On the new ones FR sent me I put a bead of silicone around the lense where it glues to the back piece before I snap the chrome cap on. So far so good and haven't had any issues. Also on the flood light on front I had problems with moisture getting under boot that protects the switch. I too there put a thin bead of silicone around boot and haven't had any issues since. I have a 29hfs

i have found replacements , but at a cost to me . now to see if i should spend the 19.00 plus or maybe see just how good FR is . seems going the FR route will allow for either positive or negative feed back for another thread . can live without them for a bit .

I had three go out. Called my dealer and the parts guy sent me some to replace them. Also sent a paid postage sticker so I could send the old ones back and they can get credited. 15 minutes to replace. No muss, no fuss, no angst.

Lamps not covered on the extended warranty. I'd just buy them online - Amazon/ebay

Decided to do the same . sent all the info to Couches and it should be taken care of , need to wait for the mail either way and i shouldn't have to pay 18.00 plus shipping to order on my own when the warranty should cover it

They should be covered ,as has been discussed on a few other threads on this forum , if not i have issue , material and workmanship. IMO marker light are material being used , and not installed so as to prevent water intrusion workmanship .

Well Couches came through along with FR and sent me the two new front LED markers lights under the extended warranty . So now it's just install and seal ! Then i think going through all the other lights and sealing from water is in order

The employees get bonused on production numbers and back-charged (minimally) on warranty work.

I've seen lines like those in other manufacturing places. They won't slow down and do the work properly until they're MADE to slow down and do the work properly. QC can only catch so much.

It's not like you're taking away their kids' Christmas toys when you file a warranty claim. It actually helps the consumer -- Or the next one, anyway.

I've seen the lenses put on upside-down on some trailer lights. The bottom side has a tiny little drain cut-out so moisture can escape.

It matters.

the lights should be sealed completely , the LED's are great lights but don't work well in wet places .
