On this forum, someone posted what the engineer had to say about this. I paraphrase, but he said if they would build it correctly the door would not fail.
I get it that it needs to be to be light, but with 7' x 7', held together by two thin layers of plywood with Styrofoam and glue, and depending entirely on the integrity of an air-tight seal... it is doomed for failure.
An idiot would recognize that all these doors failing can't be about the people putting them together wrong, the engineering is poor. And the engineer needs to get his head out of his.... well ... out of the sand.
