New Guy in Town with an XLR
Hey all. I've just signed off the Heartland Owners Forums for the last time as I sold our Road Warrior 30C yesterday. It was a good thing as I ordered our new XLR 395AMP on Monday! Should be in before spring so we can get it ready for the 2015 season. Looking forward to contributing here when I can.
Regards,
Rodney

Welcome to the FR and XLR family. Good call ordering it now. We ordered our 2015 (thought it would be a 2014) 30 HFS-5 in March of this year and it didn't show up until July, 17 weeks. Hope yours is quicker!

Thanks. We figured ordering it now achieved three things. One is all the manufacturers raise their prices in Dec so we beat that. XLR was set to raise around $1600 this month. The second is a reason we found out from a neighbor who was in the sales end of the business for over 35 years. He told me that you always want to order in the fall through Christmas. Reason being, is this is the slowest time of the year for the manufacturers. The way he put it to me was this: Do I want a unit built in the spring when they are running three shifts and burning the wick at both ends or a unit built in the winter before the crazy season starts at the beginning of RV show season? He said in all his years at the dealership there were a lot more warranty "adjustments" to be done on units built from RV show season through mid summer. They are just pushing them out so fast that things are more likely to get missed. I know this doesn't guarantee that ours will come out perfect but any help we can get will be appreciated... Last reason was, this is a slower time for the dealers too so better deals are to be had and we got great communication from ours too as we asked 10 million questions on the run up to the order. All in all, this is our third new order rig and the best experience we've had so far. Hope it stays that way!

Welcome! Those XLR's are impressive-looking trailers. Whenever one pulls into the campground you can't help but notice. I'm sure you will have tons of fun. Literally!

Thanks again! It's amazing how far these units come from year to year. We were thinking of negotiating on a leftover 13 or 14 and the additions from 13 to 14 were just amazing. Then we saw all they added for 15 and we were sold. So much new for this year. I can't imaging what the 16 will have... a flight deck perhaps?

Just look at the wait like this: they are storing your unit over the winter for free!
