New owner - stereo system

We just got our new XLR 27hfs home yesterday and are very excited. This is our first travel trailer... so much to learn. My first question that the dealership couldn't answer is how do you switch from outdoor to indoor speakers? The dealership said to use the fade mode...It seems to me that there must be a better way?
We haven't actually used it yet for any other issues to come up!

It would help to know what type of stereo system you have. Assuming that it is a ZX-700 (or likely the same for the Genesis model) you will have a selection of 3 speaker options - A, B, and C. Each selection can be switched on or off individually. "A" is usually for the living room/kitchen area, "B" for the bedroom area and "C" for the outside speakers. Can't help you if you have a Jensen or some other Stereo/CD/DVD unit.

Our Jensen works exactly the same way. A, B, C with C being outside.

Thank you for responding...it would have been helpful to mention that it was a Dual XD1222. The dealership fellow was looking for a remote to help us with the system, but could not find one. I looked through the small manual that came with it, but found nothing about either remote or changing speakers.

I would imagine that yours is wired the same as mine and unfortunately you will have do exactly as your dealer advised and use the fade control. There used to be an external switch near the radio in some XLR models but i would assume that it was removed due to failures or cost cuts

speakers

Yes the A B and C selection for the speakers is what you move the switch to. We however are having some problems with our Genesis right now! Calling the company was a waste of time and the dealer says they wont look at it for a few weeks. By then there will be snow on the ground! yikes. Our 5th wheel is 5 days old so hopefully all the kinks can be taken out before we make a long road trip!

Thanks to everyone who responded. I cannot see speaker selection A, B, or C anywhere and I guess fade is the way to go...

Does anyone know if the Dual xd has dvd? My dealer said yes, but we just got it home and haven't had a chance to mess with it yet. The answer to your question about the ext. speakers is the fade.

Yes, as others have mentioned, use the fade to switch from outdoor to indoor...kind of cheesy. Mine also will still bleed some noise through the exterior speakers when set to play only on inside. I may have to send it in but will wait until spring. My previous TT had a Jensen system with A,B &C speaker buttons. A much better arrangement.
